Deer & Doe Melilot in Gingham

 

A couple of months ago, when the shops were awash with all things gingham I just couldn't help myself and purchased this piece of gingham linen look cotton in the lovely soft pink and white.  Rather than make a dress, which seemed to be the trend, I decided to make something a little less trendy and chose a shirt.  Because I had made Deer & Doe Melilot before and really like the drop shoulder look and gently shaping, I decided to make it up again.

This was really quick to make up but after I had finished, I must admit I did wonder if the shirt was a little too country for this city girl. I am yet to work out how to style it but I can see it getting a lot of use for both autumn and spring.
