McCall's 6992 in Merino Fleece
I make no secret of the fact that McCall's 6992 is a favourite pattern of mine. In fact to date I have made 6 of these and this makes the 7th.
The fabric for this particular version is from The Fabric Store and is a lovely brushed merino sweat shirting. This is such lovely weight fabric and is lovely to wear. Making it though, I had to run the pieces in the opposite direction to normal because the stretch ran down the fabric and not across as is normal. I won't bore you with the construction details because I have said it all before. Most of it was made on my over locker with the cover stitch used for the hems.
I wore it a lot in Queenstown and usually with a down coat over the top because it was snowing and so cold. I dispensed with the coat long enough to take these photos.

I loved the historic stone quilting and wool shop in Arrowtown so had to take a photo in front of it. I didn't buy anything in this shop but did manage to buy some merino possum wool in Wanaka.
Hello fellow M6992 fan! I love your latest version.
ReplyDeleteSame to you! This is the pattern that keeps on giving.
DeleteThat merino fleece must be nice and cosy. This looks like a great wardrobe staple.
ReplyDeleteIt is lovely. I feel the cold badly in winter so merino I find to be warm and light weight.
