The One Lovely Blog Award / The Very Inspiring Blogger Award

Adrienne of Stitiching On The Edge recently nominated me for the One Lovely Blogger/Very Inspiring Blog Award. Thanks, Adrienne! It was a lovely surprise.  I am sorry it has taken so long to pass this on but as I mentioned recently, my internetless camping holiday prevented any blogging action.

Here are the rules:

  1. Thank the person who nominated you.
  2. Add The One Lovely Blog Award / The Very Inspiring Blogger Award to your post.
  3. Share 7 things about yourself.
  4. Pass the award to 10 nominees.
  5. Include this set of rules.
  6. Inform your nominees by posting a comment on their blogs.

It is a little difficult to come up with something new that my readers don't already know.

1. I was born in the 25th most southern city in the world.  A fact even I didn't know.  I would have put it first but there you go.  You live and learn.  I wonder if you can work out which city it is!

2. Like Adrienne, I don't like Project Runway either

3. I am addicted to home improvement television programmes and my favourite is Sarah's House

4. I have a magazine subscription to Australian Home Beautiful and Your Home and Garden.  These are the only magazines I buy.

5. When I am not sewing, you can find me tending my vegetable garden or preserving fruit that I grow in my small city garden.

6. I love the beach but don't live there which is why I love my annual camping holiday at the beach.

7.  My dream job would involve something to do with fabric and design.
And the nominees are...

Lara of Thornberry.  Lara's dedication to her What I Wore Series in 2012 was an inspiration.  She is a prolific sewer and I look forward to her regular posts.

Melanie of seamstress: poppykettle.  I have been reading Melanie's blog since she made her lovely lace dress for the Melbourne Cup.

Little Miss Flossy of Paradise LostWhat can I say...I love finding blogs that originate on my own patch of dirt. We share a love of op shops and I think perhaps even the same op shops.

Katherine of Blooms Endless Summer.  Katherine has conquered knit fabrics and has inspired me to try making my own underwear.

Kbenco's Projects.  A lovely lady who churns out an amazing quantity of clothing for her daughters along with items for herself.

I know there are supposed to be 10 but I know that this award has been doing the rounds and there are many of my daily reads that have already received this one, so I will leave it at 5.

I will be back tomorrow to reveal another project.

  1. LOL I think you must be right about the op shops! How long did you live in that southern city for? I taught there for many years and 4 of my children were born there too (one proud of it, everyone else tries hard to forget!)

  2. Actually only the first 5 years, so I relate more to Christchurch than anywhere else.
